Chairman – Mr. Louis Sacco, Head of Strategic Planning and Ontario Ministry of Education Liaison
Mr. Sacco is a renowned, dedicated educator with a passion for education that has spanned 30 years. He was a principal in the public school system and a director at the regional school board. He worked as a professor with the Faculty of Education at York University as a practicum supervisor until retirement. His contributions as an educational leader are highly regarded.
Principal – Ms. Heidi Nazer
Ms. Nazer has 10 years of experience as a high school principal and vice principal and over 20 years of experience in educational management positions. Ms. Nazer is an expert in methods of instruction, as well as planning, evaluating, and revising curricula. Ms. Nazer has worked with teachers and students from around the world. Ms. Nazer has a Master’s degree in English Literature.
Director – Mr. Jeff Weng, Head of Recruitment and Marketing
Mr. Weng has over 20 years of experience in educational management and operations. He has been involved in all aspects of education, from beginning his career as a teacher, and ultimately evolving to his current role as a Director of William Academy. He greatly contributes to William Academy’s overall direction and reputation. Mr. Weng has a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Toronto and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from York University.
Trustee – Mr. Michael Charles, Head of International Partnerships and Admissions
As an education professional, Michael began his career as a history teacher before being promoted to head of department and ultimately history consultant with the York Region Board of Education. He was later offered a professorship at The University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and became the Director of the University Partnership Office. He was seconded to the Ministry of Education and was responsible for the development of the Arts and Technology curriculum. After his retirement, he was hired as the principal of an elite private school in Southeast Asia.
Trustee – Ms. Linda Lu, Head of Student Counseling
As the head student counselor at William Academy, Ms. Lu is adept at inspiring students and providing guidance to students through academic consulting especially in study planning and post-secondary applications. Before moving to Toronto and obtaining a Master of Arts from York University, Ms. Lu graduated from Shanghai Normal University and was a mathematics teacher in Shanghai, China. After receiving her Ontario teacher’s license in 1991, she began teaching mathematics at public high schools in Toronto. Ms. Lu has a Senior Math Honors specialist certificate from Ontario Teacher’s College. Ms. Lu has a rich understanding and professional knowledge of teaching mathematics in Canada. She has helped many newcomers integrate into their new study environment and inspired many educators to improve their instructional skills.
