Student Visas & Permits

– International students must apply for and receive a Student Visa from a Canadian Embassy or Consulate before leaving his/her home country to attend a school in Canada. Upon arrival in Canada, a Study permit will be issued at the port of entry, indicating the length that a student is allowed to study in Canada.

– Student Visa is not required for English language courses or a program in Canada with a duration of six months or less. If you would like to study in Canada for a period of 6 months or longer, you must obtain a study permit. William Academy‘ will help student to apply for a Student Visa to enter Canada as a student.

– For students from Hong Kong, Tai Wan, Korean, and other visa-exempt country, you can come to Canada first and then apply for study permit. For non-visa-exempt country, a temporary resident visa, Student Visa, is required depending on your country of origin. Please see the list of countries that require a temporary resident visa as provided by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

– More information on the process of applying for a study permit is available on Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s web site.
